Rahman Ashena

Ashena has around 15 years of field work experience as a drilling and well completion/workover engineer. Ashena is specialized in oil and gas and geothermal well engineering, including AI data analytics, well integrity, well control, geomechanics, wellbore flow modeling, and has been a consultant in different well engineering projects in the Middle East and SE Asia. He is the founder of Smart Energy and Data Analytics (SEDA)-Group in Houston, USA, providing digitalization, software and consultation in oil and gas and geothermal industries. Ashena completed his PhD and Master’s degrees in petroleum well engineering, respectively at Montanuniversität Leoben (Austria) in 2017, and Curtin University (Australia) in 2009. Ashena also holds a master’s in data science and analytics. Ashena has more than 10 years’ experience of training in drilling and production for university and industry. Ashena has published more than 70 technical peer-reviewed publications with international publishers on well engineering topics, including four books “The Practical Handbook of Well Control”, “Cement Bond Logs, Guidelines and Interpretation”, “Coring Methods and Systems”, and “Well Cement Integrity”, as well as chapter “Artificial Intelligent Approaches in Petroleum Geosciences.
